Solar Pool Cover Use Instructions
Maintenance and Care Guide:
Follow these instructions to get the longest lifespan from your Sunpool solar pool cover.
1) Protect Your Sunpool Solar Cover while swimming
Your solar cover needs to be protected from sunlight when it is removed from the pool. The best way to do so is to store it on a Sunpool roller. Alternatively you can cover it with a white opaque protective cover when it is not being used.
2) Take Care when Handling the Solar Cover
When you remove your solar cover from your pool, ensure that you lift it over any abrasive pool decking, or any sharp or ragged surfaces on the edges of the pool.
3) Protect your Cover from High Temperatures
Water temperatures above 32 degrees Celcuis may shorten the life of your Sunpool Solar Cover. If the pool temperature rises about this threshold remove your Solar Cover from the pool.
4) Cleaning your Solar Cover
A clean solar cover operates more efficiently in allowing the sun’s rays to heat your pool water than does a dirty one. Use water and a soft brush to clean your solar cover. You should then hose off any dirt and debris from the solar cover.
5) Storage
To store your Sunpool solar cover first clean it throughly and then allow it to dry completely. You can 1) store the Cover on your Sunpool Roller or 2) Fold it on the seam and roll it up from one end. Next store the rolled up cover in a clean, dry, pest-free area where temperatures will not exceed 48 Degrees Celcius.
6) Chemicals
Monitor the level of chlorine in your pool to ensure it does not rise above 3 parts per million (PPM). If you are shock chlorine treating your pool at higher levels of chlorine then remove your Sunpool Solar Cover during this period and until the level has returned to below 3 parts per million (PPM).
CAUTION:
Your solar cover is a not a safety device. It is not designed to support the weight of a person. It is possible to drown on top of or under the solar cover. The Solar cover must be removed before swimming. Your solar cover must be completely removed from the pool before you swim in it. Take particular care to supervise children while removing your solar cover prior to swimming.
