Solar Pool Cover Installation Guide

Solar Pool Cover Installation Guide

You can install your Sunpool pool cover using the below guide.

To install your Sunpool solar cover follow these simple steps.

Average time it takes: 3 hours

1. Lay the solar pool cover on the pool with the bubbles facing down and the smooth side up.

2. To ensure accurate fitting, the cover should be left floating in the pool for 2 to 4 days at first. This is to remove the packaging creases before trimming commences. The cover has a fibre memory and will return to completely flat within a few days.

3. Flatten out all the air bubbles so that the cover sits flat on the water.

4. Using your pool as the template, take a pair of ordinary household scissors (sharper is better) and with someone holding the pool cover in position, cut the edge of the cover so that it sits flat on the water with about 50-75mm rising up the side of the pool (but not necessarily to the top edge of the pool).

(If you are not confident about getting it right make an outline of your pools shape with a marker pen on the solar cover. You can then remove the cover from the pool after making the outline and begin trimming).

5. Note: it is better to cut the cover larger than necessary and then give it a final trimming back for an exact fit, after a week or so. (The cover can shrink a tiny amount in length in the 1st week on the pool so this gives you spare for this).

6. Success: With the bubble-side facing down your solar cover should now float in place on the water through heavy wind and rain.
